Putrajaya, 10 April 2013: The Election Commission (EC) announced on Wednesday that the 13th General Election will be held on Sunday 5 May 2013. The EC decides the nomination day will be on 20 April 2013. Thus, all political parties will have 15 days to carry out campaigns to woo voters with their manifestos and introducing candidates.
The 13th General Election has been regarded as the most fierce fight between the ruling party Barisan Nasional (BN) and the opposition coallition Pakatan Rakyat (PR) in the Malaysia's history.
It is also regarded as do or die fight between Mohd Najib Abdul Razak and Anwar Ibrahim who led the BN and PR in forming the next government.
